The last day to submit late work is noon on Friday, May 20. EOC Milestone Test announcementDear Parents and Students,
To prepare for the upcoming EOC in April, the class will focus on all 4 main Domains of study: Reading- Informational, Language, Reading-Literary, and Writing. In a hands-on format, students will be preparing for the upcoming EOC (and later the semester 2 exam) using various online interactive, multimedia tools. Students will practice on their individual needs and areas of weakness in the common core Domains using USA Test Prep and ACHIEVE 3000 online as well as in-class activities and simulated practice tests. In accordance with the GA Standards-Based learning common core curriculum, the EOC will be designed by the county and comprised of questions aligned to the performance standards. In addition to the Selected Response (SR) section, there will also be two written components, which are referred to as the Constructed Response (CR) and Extended Response (ER) test portions. As a parent, you may now be asking yourself: What can I do at home to help my child prepare for the Milestone? My recommendation is to make time to sit down with your child each night and review the 9th grade online Study/Resource Guide Semester 2 AnnouncmentsTutorials - Students needing extra help and/or additional time to complete assignments may come to my room Tuesday-Thursday beginning at 7:15 a.m. Students need to send me an email informing me of their desire to come. I will give extra credit to students who come and complete assignments in this time before school.
Spring Break extra credit - Students may earn extra credit over the break by completing assignments on USA Test Prep. The Benchmark 3 Review assignment was due before the break, but students will receive additional credit for completing other assignments on this site. Journal #9 - Rewrite the ending of Romeo and Juliet - due April 11 When students are submitting late work electronically via Write to Learn or any other program, they must send me an email to [email protected] in order for the work to be graded. The email must state the assignment(s) that has been turned in. Verbal notifications about late/missing work will not be accepted in place of an email.
Quiz over Acts 2&3 on Monday, Feb. 29 and Tuesday, March 1 - make sure you are studying for this and completing both study guides. Feb. 12 - Progress reports were given out this morning. Please check your child's progress! Web Quest #2 - Students should have submitted this by today, Feb. 12. However, many students are emailing me because they can't find it on the web site. I am posting it again here. Students may continue to turn it in up until the Monday morning after we return from break. Please submit it to the website following the directions posted on the website. I should have it submitted before 8 am on Monday, Feb. 22. Feb. 10 - Progress reports go home from the school on Friday. Please check with your child to make sure you see where their grades are now so they can get caught up over the winter break. January starts a new semester and a new unit. Please remember that grades from the first semester are final (the only exception is if you were absent the day of the exam) and credits have been awarded. This semester is a new start - Start it well!! We will be starting a unit on Romeo and Juliet. Click here for a side by side version of the original text and a text in modern English.
