Write an argumentative essay in which you state a claim about the purpose of comic relief in Act IV of the play. Support your claim with evidence from Act IV of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. While writing your argument, you must address at least one counterclaim, or opposing argument, using logic as well as evidence from the play to show why you find the counterclaim invalid. Use transitional words, phrases, and clauses to create cohesion between your ideas and paragraphs.
